Most of the team, accompanied by Jimmy Calle, went on an unscheduled excursion to Hoodsport Days, (a local street fair) last Friday. Generally, there are fireworks the night before the 4th. This year they switched things up on us. We got all the way out there, only to discover that the street fair had closed for the evening, (it was only 7:00) and the fireworks were the following night.
Making the most of the evening, we spotted a wine tasting on the dock, and went to hand out tracts. There was a beautiful Schooner offering tours for $5, so we paid the toll and passed out tracts to the whole crew as we toured the boat.
Though we really didn't get to preach, God provided us with a lighthearted evening, to contrast our very heavy-hearted experience at the Pride Parade last week. Praise God for good fellowship, and the proclamation of the gospel, no matter how small a scale!
Next stop, downtown Olympia, on the 8th.
